Dear Gerry and staff:

We wanted to express our deepest gratitude for our wonderful experiences with everyone at High Mountain Log Homes. We were extremely pleased from day one. We called on a Sunday morning to inquire about building a log home. We did not know where in Canada the company was located nor did we know what the time difference was. We were fully expecting to reach an answering machine. Instead, we reached Gerry at home and woke him up. He did not miss a beat and took our call like it was midweek business hours. We spoke over an hour and answered all of our questions. Our original plan was to construct the house first, but during our many discussions, we decided to do the carriage house first. This way we would have a place to visit and use during the construction of the main house, and we could really perfect exactly what we wanted. During the design process, we spoke to Gerry weekly, and we truly felt like we were his priority, like there were no other customers but us. Their architect did the drawings, and together we settled on our design. Gerry and the staff of High Mountain Log Homes always called exactly when they said they would, they sent us weekly progress pictures during the building process, and kept us fully updated on all stages of the process.

The house arrived on the day it was promised. Gerry assured me that construction would be easy, but this was a new experience for us, so we were a bit nervous. Brennan traveled out to make sure the logs were put together properly. Brennan knew where every log went, without looking at the log number and even when they were on the truck. We anticipated four days of log assembly, but Brennan, and our fantastic crew in New York, had the logs assembled in 2 1/2 days, in the rain! Brennan fit right in with both our New York crew and our family. He was extremely knowledgeable, he eased us through the process, and he helped make the build days fun. We were absolutely amazed at how well the logs each fit together. The craftsmanship was remarkable. Even after the carriage house was built, Gerry answered any question that we had.

Gerry kept us up to date with progress through the initial building of the house at their business in Clinton, British Columbia with regular emails with pictures of the construction process. However these pictures did not do justice to the magnificence of this log house!

The staff at High Mountain Log Homes was a pleasure to work with. We felt like we were working with friends, not just another building company. We cannot wait to start the rest of the project!

We have moved to a beautiful area in Manitoba, just south of Riding Mountain National Park. With the help of High Mountain Log Homes we have built a home worthy of such a setting.

From the first discussions with Gerry Canuel regarding our dreams and wishes, through the planning stages with my sketches and basic line plans of our ideas and wants, to the building blueprints, we were confident that High Mountain not only understood but interpreted and created exactly the house we dreamed.

Gerry kept us up to date with progress through the initial building of the house at their business in Clinton, British Columbia with regular emails with pictures of the construction process. However these pictures did not do justice to the magnificence of this log house!

The house had been so well constructed by Brennan and his construction crew in Clinton, that with the excellent team on site for the reconstruction it took just 3 days to recreate. With Brennan supervising, Able Cranes lifting, our contractors, and even the truckers working as one team the house came together.

It is very difficult to find the right words to describe our house. Such is the construction that we have people going out of their way to visit, and they are overwhelmed by the logs. We wanted clients to our B&B to be "WOWED", but think they will be "BLOWN AWAY".

I can't believe how wonderfully everything went up.  I thought it would take the whole 5 days and would be such hard, stressful, labor.  Brennan was simply wonderful to work with.  I absolutely love the home....it could not be any prettier!!  It looks so majestic setting up on the hill where we have it. I will send some pictures as we make progress.  Well, you told Tom "If mamma's happy, then everyone's happy" Well this mamma is SO VERY HAPPY. What a Valentine's present. But got to say myself, that I have never seen anything as beautiful as our home.  Every log is so perfectly fit and so soft.  Every log sanded to perfection. Dreams do come true

Building a log home has been a life dream for us. A lot of research on builders, and quality work was done before making our choice. My husband and I work in Iraq supporting the troops right now and would not be able to have a constant flow of communication. This was another reason we needed someone we could really trust was working in our best interest.

High Mountain Log Homes has more that met that expectation. They worked with us through email and on the phone when ever possible. We had a special design we wanted and they had no problem with that. High Mountain gave us the best quote and stuck to it.

We found they are honest and sincere about what they do. We were sent picture on the progress while being constructed in Canada which lifted our spirits many times. When the time came to start the home on our property I was absolutely and wonderfully impressed with the crew that delivered and helped erect the logs. Brennan is a very knowledgeable and professional young man, what was thought to be a three or four day construction took two and a half days. I was amazed as I watched each log being guided into place with ease and the quality of material was outstanding. The logs are beautiful and everything fits to a "T". Brennan worked with the contractors from our location and you would have thought they had all known each other for years.

I just can't say enough about the whole process. From our initial contact to the building of the house—Gerry and his entire family and crew became part of our family. The professional yet personable attitudes they all have are wonderful. Their honest integrity and professional knowledge of the business is wonderful. They truly work for the client. We actually hated to see Brennan leave. We do intend to continue the friendship that developed. Thank you Gerry, Brennan and the entire staff of High Mountain Log Homes. Come see us anytime.

Historic Hat Creek Ranch, Cache Creek, BC

This testimonial letter is written for Gerry Canuel, owner of High Mountain Log Homes, located at 10 Sorley Road in Clinton, BC V0K 1K0.

High Mountain Log Homes was hired by Historic Hat Creek Ranch in the Spring of 2005 to perform extensive and very detailed work on three historic structures that were being restored at our historic site. One building (the former pig barn) had some damage to the roof section, which had been caused by a fire over 50 years ago. The other two buildings (an ice house and root cellar) had deteriorated beyond salvaging and had to be rebuilt completely, following information gathered from archival documents and photographs.

High Mountain Log Homes not only submitted the most favourable quote, but was also able to offer excellent suggestions on the work to be performed as well as the services of an experienced and well-trained crew, which includes a Civil Engineer with training in as-found and restoration drawings.

Throughout their time working at Historic Hat Creek Ranch, High Mountain Log Homes' crew was always on time, worked in a very fast and efficient manner and treated the historic site with much respect. Progress reports were provided at regular intervals, co-ordination with other contractors in charge of excavation or foundation pouring was excellent, and if any questions arose, the crew or owner made sure that the work was done according to our instructions.

The crew performed excellent work to our complete satisfaction and did an outstanding job rebuilding these historic structures. Both the two buildings that had to be reconstructed "from scratch" and the building for which some of the old logs could be reused were done extremely well and in accordance with heritage guidelines. At the end of the project, the company managed to stay significantly under budget, which is a rare achievement and a very honest and professional way of doing business.

We just wanted to let you how happy we are with our log cabin from High Mountain Log Homes. They took our sketches and made our handcrafted log cabin a reality. We checked out several log home builders before we decided on High Mountain Log Homes.

After meeting with the Canuel family (and staying in that neat cabin) there was no doubt we wanted them to handcraft our cabin. They are big enough to handle any job, but small enough to make you feel like family! They always returned our calls promptly and things went on schedule. Our Experience

High Mountain Logs Homes is quality — from the hospitality on our visit to the logs erected on our site. We could not be more pleased with our experience with High Mountain Log Homes.

The Canuels take tremendous pride in being the best and providing a pleasant experience from start to finish. Our logs are beautiful and more than we expected. As the logs were stacked on our foundation everyone involved commented on the quality, size and particularly the fit. Each log appears perfectly made for the next, that is because the skill and pride involved in the process makes them that way. On critical corners and extra morter and tenon are skillfully added in the saddle notch, that is quality rarely found in log homes.

Although we are still in the process of completing our home we never dreamed our design would become such a gorgeous reality. Thank you High Mountain Log Homes.
