Shipping our Handcrafted Log Homes Overseas Having your new handcrafted log home shipped from our log yard in Clinton, BC to your site overseas is not a problem! For customers belonging to the European Union, we are required to work closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in regards to the species of wood we can use to build your log home. In the EU countries, Western Red Cedar is the only non kiln dried species of wood we are allowed to use. To use another species of wood like Engleman spruce or Lodgepole Pine, these must be sent out for kiln drying. All logs are also required to be sprayed with an antifungicide spray before shipping. We fortunately have access to beautiful Western Red Cedar logs and can have another species if you so desire kiln dried for you. As for other countries not belonging to the European Union, we have gorgeous Lodgepole Pine, Douglas Fir, and Engleman Spruce full length, large diameter house logs available in our log yard. Western Red Cedar is always an option for you as well. Western Red Cedar logs are recommended for homes built for tropical climates, such as Hawaii and the Caribbean. No matter where your handcrafted log home's destination may be, High Mountain Log Homes will send a supervisor from our yard to assist in the re-erection of the log home shell package on your prepared foundation. During the building process in our log yard, we send weekly pictures and updates by email to our customers, so they can be kept up to date with the building of their new log home, and see the different stages of it being built. As with all of our customers, you are welcome to come and visit our logyard anytime, we would love to meet with you. We offer free weekend accomodation in our fully restored, private 1800s guesthouse which is just one minute from our log yard!
